The Honda Legend has never been shy of flexing its muscle when the situation demands it, and this latest model is no exception. The 3.7 litre SOHC VTEC V6 is the most powerful production engine we’ve ever built. Of course, power is of little use without control, so the Legend is equipped with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). The result, a ride that is incredibly safe and precise.

All power and torque

An increased output of 226kW at 6300rpm of power and greater lower end torque (370Nm at 5000rpm to be precise), make this new Legend significantly quicker off the mark.

5-speed auto with Grade Logic and Shift-Hold Control

Power is delivered smoothly thanks to the 5-Speed Sequential SportShift automatic transmission with an advanced Grade Logic System and Shift-Hold Control, both of which work to reduce gear 'hunting' and unnecessary changes.

The most powerful production engine we’ve ever built. But if you’re after an engine with a conspicuous growl, you’d better look elsewhere. Because as soon as the Legend’s engine starts, so too does Honda’s ingenious Active Noise Cancellation system, dulling low frequency exhaust noise to a pleasant purr.

Elegant from any angle

The new Legend delivers excellent aerodynamics and reduced rear lift at high speeds. It’s more athletic style foreshadows the power beneath the new blow-formed aluminum hood. Taut and athletic, its acceleration and cornering performance allow it to challenge the most capable sports sedans.

Sophisticated meets smart

Where the Legend really shines, though, is with its smarts. Take, for example, its Active Front Lighting System (AFS) and High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights. Depending on which way the car is turning, AFS enables either one of the "daylightlike" headlights to swivel outwards, to light up larger areas of road surface on bends. Other touches include rain-sensitive wipers and illuminated door handles.

Stylish, modern, luxurious and now more spacious

Inside, occupants are pampered with an infusion of hi-tech and traditional materials; brushed aluminium, sumptuous leather and woodgrain panelling. A centrally mounted reversing camera, comprehensive instrumentation, climate control, premium in-dash 6CD stacker CD with 10 speakers and privacy screens complete the interior.

260-watts of crisp, clean sound are delivered through 10 acoustically positioned BOSE® speakers. The system includes a 6 CD in-dash changer with MP3, WMA, USB audio input and DVD Audio compatibility.

Safety

Safety should never be a luxury

With so much power in your hands, it’s comforting to know the Legend has safety to match. Honda innovations like Advanced Compatibility Engineering and G-Force Control technology provide outstanding structural safety. These combined with multiple airbags and active front head restraints, deliver optimum occupant protection in the event of a collision. What’s more, a rear-mounted video camera and in-dash monitor provides a better view when reversing. And then of course there’s SH-AWD giving you not only incredible handling, but also keeping you anchored firmly to the road.

Full complement of airbags

The Legend’s interior is equipped with dual front SRS airbags, driver and front passenger-side SRS airbags and curtain SRS airbags to shield you and your passengers in a structurally sound ‘survival zone’.

Vehicle Stability Assist

The Legend's advanced Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system combines the control of the brakes, engine speed and Traction Control System (TCS) to keep the car balanced during cornering and critical conditions.

Powerful efficiency

Building a powerful engine is one thing, but our engineers also made the Legend’s SOHC VTEC V6 smart enough to use just 11.3 litres of fuel per 100km.*

Exterior paint

The innovative, environmentally conscious paint layering process used for the Legend includes water polishing between coats. The primer-surfacer (PS) is hand sanded to ensure a smooth surface for better appearance. After a waterborne colour basecoat (BC) is applied, a pair of clear coats provide depth. This helps to protect the base coat from air pollution, acid rain and fog and gives a very high resistance to scratches, whilst still delivering brilliant colour and lustre.

Low-emissions Vehicle status

Although the new Legend is the most powerful production engine we have ever made, it meets EURO 4 emissions standards and is an LEV (low emission vehicle).
